Well, it’s official. The streets are just as, if not more, important than the runways. Anyone who follows fashion has noticed the increasing trend of dressing for the sidewalks and not just for the every day. Now, during fashion week especially, not only do we get to see fantastic new clothes and accessories for whatever season is upon us, but we also have fabulous and exciting people watching to boot (admit it, you all love people watching just as much as I do!). Forget pastels are the new black – editors and buyers are the new models and the concrete is the new catwalk. Note to self: DON’T leave home in yoga pants ever again.

(MID-WEEK) FASHION FIX: ALL THE PRETTY THINGS

Friends, in the midst of this crazy winter (or early spring? who knows anymore these days), Fall 2012 Fashion Week has been thrust upon us, offering up a bevy of eye-catching designs. I find myself overwhelmed with the sheer beauty of everything and almost have to take a step back to take it all in. As aesthetically pleasing as these designs are, it is easy to see how equally stunning the craftmanship is. In the recent seasons I’ve noticed the increasing trend of playing with textures and materials. This upcoming Fall season is no exception and here are a few bits to prove it.

MID-WEEK (FASHION FIX): SIMPLY STUNNING – ELIZABETH’S TAYLOR’S JEWELS

Last week, the “The Collection Of Elizabeth Taylor” auction took place at Christie’s in New York City. While this is probably one of the most stunning and awe-inspiring collections of jewelry ever to exist in one woman’s possession, it is also an example of the tremendous amount of and design that goes into creating a beautiful piece of wearable art. In her honor, here are a few of my favorite shots of her gorgeous collection.
